ORDERING INFORMATION

HOW IT WORKS

This information will give you some insight into how to order a portrait or commission. If you need any assistance with your order or have any questions that are not answered here, please do not hesitate to contact me.

PICKING THE RIGHT PHOTOS

The first and the most crucial step is selecting several of your best photos of your pet or subject. I primarily draw/paint from one main photograph when creating a piece but I prefer to have several photos to work from in order to really see the character, details, and coloring of your pet. The photos must be large, clear, and sharp. Also, please try not to pick any photos that have any sort of filter over them if at all possible.

For more information and examples of the photos I need and use to work from, please visit my photo tips page.

CONTACT ME

Contact me and upload your photos to your email. Let me know what you would like for your piece in terms of size, medium, and style. If you are unsure of what direction you want to go or need some assistance selecting a style for your piece, I would be happy to help or make some suggestions. If you sent photos for approval, which for some reason I am unable to work from, you will not be charged.

I CONTACT YOU

I will contact you to let you know that I have received your photos, whether I may need additional photos from you and, the estimated start and end time for your piece. Please note, that these are hand-drawn pieces that are created to represent your pet as accurately as possible. It may take longer than a few days.

A deposit of 100% of the total cost will be due upfront. I will send you an invoice via PayPal that will include all the details of your piece along with your remaining balance. Once I receive your deposit, I will create photo composites from your submitted photos.

Please note that pieces are completed in the order in which I receive them. If you need your piece by a certain date or if you need a rush order, please be sure to include that information in your email when you contact me.

PHOTO COMPOSITES + ROUGH SKETCH

For every piece, I create a digital composite with your photos, depending on your requirements and wishes. You may wish to change or replace the background, include objects (like a favorite toy or collar), delete unwanted items or include several pets from different photos into one piece.

After the composite is completed with your requested alternations, it works as a visual guide for your final artwork. From this, I will generate a rough sketch (that you will receive via email) to make sure we are on the same page. If everything looks good, I will then begin work on your final piece.

PORTRAIT CREATION + UPDATES

I will send daily photo updates once I have begun on your final piece so that you are able to track my progress and make note of any changes or alterations. From start to finish most completed pieces will take roughly a week depending on size and medium.

Once completed, I will send you a final photo to ensure that you are happy with the end result. Even though the portrait is completed, you can still request possible alterations.

BALANCE PAYMENT, PACKAGING + DELIVERY

Your final balance is paid once you have approved the completed portrait. I will send you your final invoice via PayPal and once the payment is received, I ship your piece through FedEx. All pieces are packed carefully to help prevent any damage when it's sent. Shipping costs depend on where you are located and how quickly you would like it. I will send you your shipping confirmation number and will contact you once you receive your piece to make sure it made it safely and that you are happy with your new artwork.
